A man from Portslade has been sentenced for having under-age sex with a teenage girl.
Kasey Knowles, 21, unemployed, of Flint Close, Portslade, admitted six counts of penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged 13 to 15 years old.
The offences took place over a six-week period from the start of December last year to the middle of January this year.
Sussex Police said: “A Brighton man has been sentenced in connection with a child sexual exploitation investigation in the city.
“Kasey Knowles, 21, unemployed, of no fixed address, was charged with six counts of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged between 13 and 15. All the charges relate to one girl.
“At Hove Crown Court on Friday 7 August Knowles, who pleaded guilty, was sentenced to a 10-month suspended sentence suspended for two years, a two-year supervision order, 240 hours unpaid work, 10 years on the Sex Offenders Register and 10-year SHPO (sexual harm prevention order).”
Detective Constable Dawn Robertson said: “Knowles is a manipulative man who groomed a girl he met online and then met in the city.
“His behaviour is intolerable and we are working to offer the girl involved the best support.
