A pensioner from Hove died in a car crash at the weekend.

John Ansell, 81, was driving north on the A287 at North Warnborough, between RAF Odiham and Hook, in Hampshire, when his BMW car crossed the central reservation and crashed into a barrier.

The accident, just south of junction 5 of the M3, happened just after 7.40am on Saturday (15 August).

Hampshire Constabulary said that no other vehicles were believed to have been involved in the accident and that no one else was hurt.

Mr Ansell was taken to Frimley Park Hospital, where he later died.

Anyone who saw Mr Ansell crash or driving along the A287 before the accident is asked to call PC Michael Nol from the Hampshire Constabulary Roads Policing Unit at Whitchurch on 101.
