Portslade man charged with preventing lawful burial of suspected murder victim
A Portslade man has been charged with preventing the lawful burial of a missing Lancing man Mark Manning.
Stewart Robertson, 50, of St Aubyns Road, was due to appear at Crawley Magistrates’ Court today (Friday 27 May).
Sussex Police said: “Human remains, which are unidentified at this stage, but believed to be those of Mark, were discovered on land in Hampshire Hill near Slaugham on Wednesday (25 May).
“Mark, 54, of Brighton Road, was last seen on (Saturday) 19 April 2014 before his family reported him missing on (Tuesday) 22 April. Officers launched a murder investigation in June 2014.
“Colin Gale, 39, of Offington Lane, Worthing, was charged with the murder of Mark Manning in January this year. He is due to stand trial on (Monday) 4 July at Lewes Crown Court.”
