Hundreds join NUT march as teachers across Brighton and Hove strike

TEACHERS STRIKE BRIGHTON AND HOVE 5-7-16

Hundreds of people are marching through Brighton and Hove this morning as most of the city’s schools have closed due to a teachers’ strike over pay and working conditions.

The National Union of Teachers called today’s strike calling for proper funding for schools, national pay and conditions and national bargaining rights with the government. About three in four of the city’s schools have closed as a result.

The march started at 10.30am in Palmeira Square and has now reached its destination, The Level, where a rally with speeches and a supporters’ picnic are planned.

Wow… come on Jo what a terrible opening paragraph – it’s no wonder people are unsympathetic about the desperate situation our schools are in when the media start their articles with such a deeply misrepresentative and misleading statement… “Hundreds of people are marching through Brighton and Hove this morning as most of the city’s schools have closed due to a teachers’ strike over pay”

You can do so much better than this…

Unions holding the government to ransom as usual, but it wont work this time.
After BREXIT, Britain has become a new world-so to speak-and everyone must play their part to getting Britain out of the doldrums that Brussels dragged us into.
So just get back to work or chose another profession as time will not wait for people who do not take Britain`s freedom from the EU very seriously.
