A man was taken to hospital this morning after a fire broke out in a second floor flat in Brighton.
Three fire engines from Preston Circus and Roedean were sent to the blaze at 7.30am this morning.
The aerial ladder platform was used to help quench the flames and the fire service’s fan was used to clear smoke from the building.
The fire service said: “East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service were mobilised this morning to a small fire in Brighton.
“Three appliances, including the Aerial Ladder Platform, from Brighton and Roedean were mobilised at 7.30am following reports of a small fire within a second-floor flat. The fire was extinguished and a Positive Pressure Ventilation Fan was used to clear smoke from the building.
“All person were accounted for and a stop message came in at 7.49am, with the last crew leaving the scene at 8.11am.
“One man was taken to hospital, as a precautionary measure.”
The callout followed a busy night for the fire service in Brighton.
At 8.52pm last night Brighton firefighters were sent to New England Street, Brighton, following reports of a deliberate small fire in a shopping trolley.
Then at 9.06pm, Hove firefighters were sent to flooding at a flat which had affected electrics. Firefighters isolated the leak and a Home Safety Visit was carried out.
And at 9.48pm Brighton firefighters were sent to Vale Road, in Portslade, after electrics became flooded.
Devonshire Place
