Leeds United 2 Brighton & Hove Albion 0
Albion lost at Elland Road for the first time since August 2013.
Former Seagulls striker Chris Wood scored both goals.
The first was a strong looping header. Then a penalty, conceded by Fikayo Tomori in the last five minutes.
After a first half with few chances Leeds were getting on top when they scored.
Albion had chances to equalise. Sam Baldock just failed to connect with a Glenn Murray flick on from an Anthony Knockaert corner.
Then Murray had a clear chance well saved by Leeds’ former England keeper Rob Green.
Wood, who was on loan at Albion in 2010-11, then wrapped things up with a well-placed penalty.
Albion, still six points clear of Huddersfield Town in third place, don’t play again Saturday 1 April when they face Blackburn Rovers at the Amex.
Every match now is vital as the Premier League hoves into view.
