A fire at a school has covered much of south Portslade in smoke this evening (Saturday 24 June).
Eight fire engines are battling the blaze at the derelict Eastbrook Primary School, in Manor Hall Road, Southwick, West Sussex Fire and Rescue said.

Firefighters from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service have been sent in support.
The fire service said: “Please avoid the area. Neighbours should keep windows closed due to smoke.”

The first 999 calls were made at about 6.20pm and the smoke soon became visible for miles around.
