An extensive search involving the police helicopter for a man and a baby in Mile Oak was launched last night – but despite carrying on for at least five hours, no trace was found of them.
A concerned member of the public called police shortly after 5.30pm saying they were worried about the man and child.
Several police cars drove up to the top of the road, near the farm, and the police helicopter joined the search and was still out at 10pm.
A police spokesman said: “At about 5.36pm on Thursday (9 November), police received a call from a member of the public concerned for the welfare of a man with a baby in Mile Oak Road, Portslade.
“Officers carried out a search of the area, assisted by the NPAS police helicopter, but were unable to trace the man or the baby.
