The Brighton Pride website went down this morning after Britney Spears was announced as the headline act this year.
Normal service has since been resumed as fans scramble for tickets to see a star described by the organisers as a gay icon.
Her performance on Saturday 4 August will be the opening date on her European tour.
The tour follows a residency in Las Vegas where her show, Britney: Piece of Me, has been running since December 2013.
She said: “I’m so excited to be kicking off my UK tour this summer at Brighton Pride.
“I guarantee it’s going to be a night to remember and can’t wait to sing and dance with all of my LGBTQ fans.”
