Cancellations and delays are expected on trains running to and from Brighton until 3pm this afternoon following a points failure.
Southern Rail said: “We have been advised by Network Rail that a set of points (moveable sections of track that allow trains to move from one line to another) has failed outside of Brighton which is limiting the movement of train services into and out of one of our busiest hub stations.
“Highly trained engineers are currently onsite making a full assessment of the fault so that a repair can be put in place.”
