FIGHTBACK BRIGHTON: 150+ shows, 19 venues, 2 weeks of live music

Grassroots Music Venues across Brighton unite to create fortnight festival of music – Fightback Brighton. 19 participating venues confirmed – over 150 shows!

Music Venue Trust are delighted to announce Fightback Brighton, a two-week celebration of Brighton’s vital Grassroots Music Venues that will take place 22nd April – 5th May 2019.

One of the highly regarded Brighton music venues that you can visit

Fightback Brighton is a new spring campaign that will encourage audiences to visit their local grassroots music venue and promote the Brighton’s emerging and existing musical talent.

Fightback Brighton will provide the focus for events taking place at the city’s Grassroots Music Venues, with live music every day throughout the festival at a whole range of venues right across Brighton.

The 19 venues in the city that are already confirmed are: BEES MOUTH • THE BRUNSWICK • CONCORDE 2 • COWLEY CLUB • EAST STREET TAP • GREEN DOOR STORE • THE HOPE AND RUIN • KOMEDIA • LATEST MUSIC BAR • OLD MARKET • PATTERNS • PAV TAV • PRINCE ALBERT • RIALTO THEATRE • RICHMOND BAR • ROSE HILL • BRIGHTON ROCKS • CROWNS • THE QUADRANT.

Many venue bars will be further participating in the Music Venue Trust’s fund-raising campaign by stocking Fightback Lager, a craft beer developed from within the grassroots music community. A donation from every pint and can sold gives financial support to the charity.

Fightback’s Gary Prosser said: “These venues are the backbone of the live music scene in Brighton, providing spaces where artists can take their first steps, develop and grow. Fightback Brighton provides an opportunity to showcase the fantastic range of artists and venues that Brighton enjoys, celebrate the history of our music scene and support its future.”

Alongside more than 150 shows in 19 venues, the event will also host the showing of a short film “Our Growing Silence” narrated by actor Art Malik, panel discussions and networking.
