Friday night is paaaarty night with Haiku Hands
Haiku Hands are coming to Brighton

The Brighton & Hove News music team are fully aware of the seriously catchy and uplifting modern dance music unleashed by three Australian ladies going under the name of Haiku Hands, as we have already had the pleasure of seeing them performing live in Brighton.

We witnessed their Great Escape show at the Komedia in Gardner Street on Thursday 17th May 2018 and the packed crowd were dancing around for all of their 25 minute set. They were fantastic! They announced a return date five months later to the same venue on Monday 22nd October and once again we were enthralled and thankfully the set was longer this time around.

Haiku Hands are Mie Nakazawa, Claire Nakazawa and Beatrice Lewis and they exploded onto the scene at the tail end of 2017 with their irresistibly danceable choooooooooooon ‘Not About You’ and now they’re back with the seriously groovin’ ‘Dare You Not To Dance’.

The trio are talented artists who work across several fields, from energetic live performance right through to visual art and photography. Claire is into art, photography and painting. Sister Mie attended the National Art School in Sydney where she received a Printmaking Prize and went on to receive an Australian Galleries exhibition award after her graduation. Her murals and group exhibitions have been displayed across many galleries over the past eight years. Learn more HERE.

The unapologetic Australian trio have quickly earned a fierce reputation for themselves as they successfully blend hip hop, pop, electronic, dance and disco all within their energising live set. You certainly get an uplift when seeing them perform live and thankfully they have announced a new UK and European tour that once again includes a date in Brighton. This time around they will be appearing at the ever popular Hope & Ruin, which is located 11-12 Queens Road. The date for your diaries is Friday 9th August – so Friday night is paaaaaarty night – ‘Dare You Not To Dance’.

You can purchase your tickets HERE and doors open at 8pm and it carries on until curfew at 11pm. There will be support on the night too.

More info on Haiku Hands can be found HERE and HERE.
