A fire was put out within an hour at a prominent venue on Brighton seafront – and could have been started deliberately.
An investigation is under way to try to work out whether an arsonist started the blaze started in a bin store at the Seahorse, previously known as the Brighton Beach Club, and for many years as Alfresco.
Two fire engines were sent to the venue which is on the A259 King’s Road, next to the Upside Down House and the Brighton i360.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called at 12.16am on Wednesday 22 October to reports of a bin store fire outside a commercial premises in King’s Road Arches, Brighton.
“Two fire engines were in attendance from Preston Circus.
“Crews used two breathing apparatus and one hose-reel jet to extinguish the fire.
“The fire was out by 12.45am.
“Police were in attendance.
“There were no casualties reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.”









Another space for a council block of flats with Seaviews!!!!
This may be connected to a new drug doing the rounds in Brighton which is said to make those taking it a lot more aggressive which would fit with the recent crime spike. Unless someone had a known grudge against this business.
