The former owner of a much-loved Chinese restaurant in The Lanes is opening a new venue just a stone’s throw away.
Gar Hine Cheung sold the family restaurant Gars in Prince Albert Street in 2022 to the group which owns Wolfox, almost 40 years after it first opened in 1983.
He is now planning to open a new venture, Vagabond, in Duke Street, where Browns used to be.

Mr Gar has applied to vary the licence for the venue, changing the layout inside but not making any changes to the hours or conditions.
The layout changes include reducing the front of house licensed area on the ground floor, moving the bar and creating a small new licensed area on the first floor.
