A man broke into a number of guest bedrooms in a series of burglaries at a four-star hotel on Brighton seafront.
Sussex Police said: “A man has been charged with committing multiple burglaries at the Grand hotel, in Brighton.
“Phillip Brown, 59, of Dawson Close, London, is accused of stealing cash and jewellery worth a total of £1,250 from two different hotel rooms.
“He is also accused of breaking into a third room with intent to steal and attempting to enter a fourth room with intent to steal.
“The incidents are reported to have occurred on Tuesday 23 June.
“The same day, Brown is accused of fraudulently using a bank card to purchase cigarettes and alcohol in Station Way, Brighton.
“He has been bailed with conditions to appear before South East London Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 21 July.”
