The Shakedown Festival organisers have been granted permission to use Stanmer Park next October.
They are planning to follow up the first Shakedown festival, which was held in September, with what they say will be “an even bigger and better event”.
The promoters said that they would bring two of the biggest festival tents in Europe to Stanmer Park.
The tents are the same Kayam structures used by Radio 1 for their Big Weekend Events, ensuring Shakedown 2012 will be weatherproof.
This year almost 10,000 revellers enjoyed the likes of Ed Sheeran, Razorlight, 2 Many DJs, the Freemasons, Example, Zane Lowe and the pick of Brighton’s live music and DJ scene.
Festival organiser Jonesy, from Juice 107.2, said: “We’re over the moon that the council and local authorities have once again shown their support for Shakedown.
“We’ve got some exciting plans for 2012 and have already confirmed our headliner which we will be announcing early next year.”
Early bird tickets went on sale yesterday (Thursday 8 December) for what looks like being the final event in the British festival calendar – on Saturday 6 October.
Councillor Geoffrey Bowden, Brighton and Hove City Council cabinet member for culture, gave “landlord’s consent”.
The organisers still need to apply for a licence.
