Teenagers helped plant a youth centre garden with wildlife-friendly flowers, edible herbs and fruiting plants.
Young people from Brighton Youth Centre were joined by 23 local residents this month.
The event was organised by Action for Conservation (AFC), and led by gardening consultant Becca Mann.
Percy, 15, said: “This project made me realise that there’s a lot I can do myself to help nature.”

The garden also featured insect hotels made from recycled timber groynes recovered from Brighton beach, made available via Brighton and Hove City Council.
The council’s senior project engineer Pippa Collidge said: “This simple collaboration has turned a waste product into something that delivers lasting value for both the community and nature.”

That’s brilliant. Our hope for the future. I love the bee hotel.
A good excuse next time someone is caught flytipping plumbing materials. It’s a bee hotel!
