Managers of the McDonald’s restaurant in Western Road, Brighton, want to open all night at weekends.
They have applied for a licence to extend their opening times, which currently require them to close from midnight to 6.30am on Saturdays and Sundays.
They have also asked for permission to open for longer on weekdays, opening at 5am instead of 6.30am and closing at midnight instead of 11pm.
Brighton and Hove City Council’s licensing committee will decide whether to grant permission at a meeting at Hove Town Hall at 10am today.
If the licence is given the go-ahead the takeaway would become the latest of a number of late-opening fast food shops around the Western Road area.
