The family of a man found murdered in Brighton at the weekend have paid tribute to him.
Craig Palmer’s mother Jane and stepfather John said: “He was a son in a million and he will be greatly missed.”
His daughter Danielle said: “I was always his princess and his baby girl.
“He was so lovable and he just used to play daft deeds to make us laugh.
“He always loved my mum and was really supportive of us all.
“I love him loads and will miss him so much.”
His wife Debbie said: “We all loved him dearly and wanted him home with us.
“We had such laughs together and he was such a supportive dad.
“I just wish he could have come back home.”
Mr Palmer, 39, whose family live in Cheshire, was found dead at a property in Russell Square, Brighton, on Saturday (15 January).
Five men have been arrested in relation to his death.
This morning John Battams, 40, of no fixed address, was charged with murdering Mr Palmer.
Battams is due to appear in custody at Brighton Magistrates’ Court tomorrow morning (Thursday 20 January).
A 28-year old man arrested on Saturday remains in police custody.
Three other men have been bailed without charge while police inquiries continue.
A 27-year old man arrested on Sunday was bailed yesterday (Tuesday) evening to Tuesday 15 March.
A 37-year old man arrested on Monday was bailed yesterday (Tuesday) evening to Friday 4 March.
A 27-year old man also arrested on Sunday was bailed in the early hours this morning to Tuesday 15 March.
The investigation, led by Detective Chief Inspector Jeff Riley of the Sussex Police Major Crime Branch, continues.
Results of post-mortem tests concluded at the Royal Sussex County Hospital on Sunday evening (16 January) suggest that Mr Palmer died as a result of head injuries.
