A man was punched and robbed shortly after getting off a train at Hove Station.

Sussex Police said: “Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was punched and robbed near Denmark Villas in Hove on Thursday (4 December).

“The 47-year-old victim had got off a train at Hove railway station at around 1am.

“As he walked southbound to Denmark Villas texting a friend, he became aware of a man standing in front of him who said: ‘Give me your phone.’

“Before the victim could react the suspect punched him twice and grabbed his iPhone and then ran off. He suffered a broken nose, cuts and swollen cheek.

“The suspect is described as a white, aged 20 to 30, with short brown hair and a rough appearance.

“He was possibly wearing jeans and a dark coat or jacket.”

Anyone who saw the robbery or has any information is asked to phone Sussex Police on 101 or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk.
