A gang robbed a man at knifepoint in Brighton.
Sussex Police today (Friday 7 August) issued CCTV footage of two men who detectives want to interview about the robbery.
The force said: “Police are appealing for witnesses after a gang of men robbed a 20-year-old at knifepoint in Brighton.
“The victim was walking in Brills Lane, off East Street in the city centre, when he was pushed up against a wall by a group of six or seven black men in hooded tops at about 4.30am on (Friday) 10 July.
“The men took all his money before leaving. The victim then raised the alarm.
“Police have recovered a CCTV image of two men they would like to speak to about the robbery.”
Detective Constable Léonie White said: “It was starting to get quite light when the robbery happened so someone on a night out may have seen what happened or the gang leaving the scene.
“We have spent the last month speaking to potential witnesses and gathering CCTV from the area but we still need the public’s help to identify the men who were involved.
“We would particularly like to speak to the men in the CCTV. If you know who they are, please contact us.”
A 20-year-old man from Redhill and an 18-year-old man from Purley have been arrested on suspicion of robbery.
They were questioned before being released on bail until Wednesday 26 August.
