Child’s bike stolen from King Alfred

Police are appealing for witnesses after a child’s BMX bike was stolen from outside the King Alfred leisure centre in Hove.

The £149 Voodoo BMX belongs to a 12-year-old girl and is a dark grey and purple.

The bike which had been left in the cycle area at the centre in Kingsway was stolen on Friday 26 August just before 1pm. The suspect is believed to be a boy aged between 10 and 12 who was seen riding off on the bike.

PC Grant Hebblewhite said: “The girl who owns the bike is very upset. If anyone has seen it or has witnessed it being ridden off please get in touch with us.”

Wow, cutting-edge reportage from Brighton and Hove News; no doubt followed by a news flash about a seagull cr*pping on the roof of a bus shelter….

Needing sensationalism isn’t great, mate. She’s 12 and someone nicked her wheels. Of course she’s devastated and I for one think the circulation to help her out is far more justified than some drivel about the i360 or some such.

Blimey Paul, it’s called ‘news’ – therefore information for the community. Let’s hope she gets her bike back.
