Hove driver banned for speeding along Brighton seafront while coked off his face

Woman jailed for trying to steal a car in Brighton

A Hove man has been banned from driving for 30 months for speeding recklessly along Brighton seafront while off his face on cocaine.

Seyed Fakhredin Alavivijavieh, 43, of Queen Victoria Avenue, Hove, had 24 times the legally permitted level of cocaine in his blood when he was tested by Sussex Police.

The legal limit is 10 micrograms per litre of blood because some medicines can produce trace readings. Alavivijavieh had the equivalent of 240 micrograms in his blood.

He was arrested in King’s Road, Brighton, in November while driving a red Nissan Primera, District Judge Christopher James was told.

At Brighton Magistrates’ Court the judge sentenced Alavivijavieh to eight weeks in prison suspended for 18 months and ordered him to go to rehab for six months.

He said that the suspended prison sentence was justified because the offence was so serious, the amount of cocaine so high and because Alavivijavieh had been speeding so recklessly.

Alavivijavieh was given credit for pleading guilty. He was also ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs.

Surely there is no legal amount of cocaine permitted being as it’s a class A drug!

    Off his face?
Is this a medical term or just pleb reporting?

The correct clinical terminology is “off one’s t!ts” but, malheureusement, a lot of ISPs get all prudish about this turn of phrase.
