Sussex Police offered a £1,000 reward today (Friday 10 March) for information leading to the arrest of wanted former prisoner Aaron Barrett.

The force said that Barrett was wanted for recall to prison having failed to abide by the terms of his release licence.

Sussex Police said: “Barrett who is described as black, around 6ft and of stocky build with black hair and brown eyes, was jailed for 13 months at Lewes Crown Court in July 2016 for dangerous driving.

“He was living in Surrey when he was released on licence in January this year but had previously lived in Brighton where he still has many contacts as well as in East Sussex.”

Superintendent Jane Derrick said: “If you see him, or know of his whereabouts, please call 101 or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 0183 of 11/02 but do not approach him.

“If it is an emergency, dial 999.”

Barrett, who has previously been accused of burglary and violence, was caught driving a Volkswagen Golf dangerously along the seafront in Rottingdean and in the Whitehawk area in June last year.

Previous addresses he has given the court include Hamilton Close, in Portslade, Lower Bevendean Avenue, in Bevendean, and Arundel Road West, in Peacehaven.
