New 2000 capacity music festival added to Brighton event this May

The Beach – Knock out new series of venues to hit Brighton Beach at The Great Escape (+ over 80 artists added to the line up today)

The Beach; 2000 capacity FESTIVAL SITE created on Brighton beach to turbo charge the festivals offering of incredible 30 venues
Beach partners include; Island Records, Dr. Martens and AWAL
Superorganism, Tom Grennan, Nilüfer Yanya, Goat Girl and more announced

The festival for new music is returning, bigger and better than ever before. In response to the growing numbers of festival go-ers and continual hunger for even more of the newest talent, The Great Escape is today announcing that it is to create its very own 2000 capacity festival site – right on Brighton beach. Adding to the festivals family of 30 incredible venues, the brand new festival site will be home to two music venues to watch the very best new artists. Watch this space for more news soon.

Rory Bett, MAMA Festivals CEO said: “With demand and drive for new music and an ever-expanding festival, creating our first, very own festival site on the beach is the most exciting news in TGE’s history and we couldn’t have a more perfect spot than right on the seafront. The Beach will become a magnet for music lovers during the festival and we can’t wait to open the doors.”

Curated by the greatest music tastemakers around, the beach site will be jam-packed with the most, sizzling, sought after upcoming artists. Island Records’ heavyweight artist roster has a reputation second to none, from nurturing the likes of Sigrid and JP Cooper to Nicki Minaj, Dizzee Rascal and Sean Paul, the beach will undoubtedly be buzzing with the next generation of label talent. And after one of the most exhilarating shows at The Great Escape 2017. Other beach partners include AWAL and Dr. Martens with many more to be announced very soon. All artists TBA but be sure to expect a few surprises.

Plus more artists have been announced too; everyone is talking about Superorganism one of the most intriguing bands around, who formed only last year are a buzzing, secretive 8-piece from across the world, Tom Grennan is returning for his second festival, he’s been building his ever- growing fan base with his distinctive soulful voice and indie flair. Also returning to the festival is Nifuler Yanya, who turns heads with her guitar-driven R&B songs and making his debut is singer-producer Tom Tripp, whose swiftly gaining millions of streams and support from the like of NAO.

The Great Escape is proud to partner with Brighton based much-admired charity FareShare Sussex, who believe no good food should go to waste. They prevent perfectly edible food from ending up in landfill by redistributing surplus from the food industry to over 100 charities and community groups supporting vulnerable people across Brighton and Sussex, delivering around 10 tonnes of food every week to people that need it most.

Rachel Carless, Development Manager said: “We are so thrilled to be working together with the Great Escape. As a small charity it is really exciting for us, making a real impact boosting our profile as well as raising much-needed funds to keep up our work.”
