Manager of Brighton and Hove Albion’s women team dismissed after allegations

Albion have released stalwart midfielders Steve Sidwell and Liam Rosenior.

Steve Sidwell

Both joined the club during the Hughton era.

Rosenior made 44 appearances for the club including a couple as captain.

The full back has found first team appearances difficult to come by. He started his last Premier League match away at Bournemouth back in September.

Sidwell first joined Albion on loan from Arsenal in 2002. He joined Reading in January 2003.

Thirteen years later he rejoined Albion permanently from Stoke City after another loan spell. Overall he made 62 appearances for the Seagulls.

His time at the club will be best remembered for a crucial goal at Nottingham Forest during the 2016 promotion push – and his wonder goal at Bristol City later that year when he scored from the halfway line.

Sidwell once told Brighton and Hove News in an interview about his desire to score at the Amex but his only goal at the stadium was against Atletico Madrid in a pre-season friendly, a week before Albion’s Premier League opener to Manchester City.

Sadly for Sidwell his recent appearances were limited due to a season-long injury.
