A rather lacklustre Albion were comfortably beaten by Watford at Vicarage Road
Two goals from Roberto Pereyra, one in each half, saw off the Seagulls.
Albion had a few half chances in the match but failed to take them.
And last season’s hero Pascal Gross looked terribly out of sorts and was substituted early in the second half.
The one bright spot for Albion was the second-half introduction of Yves Bissouma.
The Seagulls will have to get this performance – and defeat – out of their system very quickly as they face Manchester United at the Amex a week tomorrow (Sunday 19 August).
