Santa returns to Volks Railway

Tickets are now available for this year’s Santa Express on Brighton seafront.

From 1 December, Father Christmas will be joining the Volk’s Railway, spreading some magic at the railway’s new Visitor Centre every weekend up until Christmas as he gets ready for the big night. While he fixes up his sled, you can come on a very special train ride to visit him!

This is a perfect pre-Christmas treat and an opportunity for families to spend time together in the busy festive season, make special Christmas gifts, eat tasty snacks, ride on the UK’s oldest Electric Railway and visit Santa in his grotto.

Grown-ups aren’t left out either. An adult ticket includes a seasonal hot drink and a ‘retro’ gift.

Book your place on the Santa Express workshop

Teachers wishing to take their class on a special Christmas trip can also book a slot on school days to make a card, ride the train and get a toy from Santa; for groups between 20 and 60 priced at £7.50 each.

As well as weekends, the Santa Express runs on Wednesday, 19 and Thursday 20 December.

Councillor Alan Robins, lead member for tourism and culture, said: “Christmas is a hectic time of year and this is designed to be fun and relaxing for adults and children. Last year the combination of riding on the Volk’s railway, a craft workshop and meeting Santa was a great success so this year we have expanded the sessions.”

Ticket Options

Child’s ticket £12. Every child gets a present, snack and craft activity. All children must be accompanied by an adult and the ticket includes one adult return. Gifts and craft activities are suitable for children between three and 14.

Under three’s ticket £5. Every child gets an age appropriate present and a ride on the train.

Adult ticket £15. Make a card, choose from a range of festive café treats, ride the train and get a special retro present from Santa!

Adult return on the Volk’s Railway is £4.50

A round trip on the Volk’s railway takes around 30 minutes. The last return train leaves the Visitor Centre at 3.15pm.

Slot times10.30am 11am 11.30am 12.30pm 1pm,1.30pm, 2pm, 2.30pm, 3pm.
