4 bands for £5 in Brighton! Now that’s pretty cool!

I have noticed that on Monday 26th November up at the Hope & Ruin on 10-12 Queens Road, Brighton, BN1 3WA, that there is a fab event promoting up-and-coming new talent going down, where if you are aged 18+, you can get to see four bands for just £5. That’s a mere £1.25 per act, which is a bargain!

The acts in question are being put on by ‘Scruff Of The Neck’ home promotions company and features: Submariner, The Tin Pigeon, Drusila and Tommy.

Let’s meet the bands……….

SUBMARINER

Submariner

Submariner hem together ambient indie rock, emotive lyricism and an organic flair for earworm melodies.

After a strong 2017 where they performed copious headline slots on the South Coast, made their major festival debuts at Common People and Victorious festivals, released their debut music video for ‘Closer’ and gained attention from BBC introducing and The Line of Best Fit; Submariner are primed and ready to mark the end of one chapter as they have just uploaded their new video for ‘T.O.Y.S’ – watch it HERE.

The Tin Pigeons

The Tin Pigeons

The bouncing 2 piece indie band from the East Midlands were acclaimed as “One of the best festival bands we know” by BBC Introducing after conquering every major festival stage in the country including Reading & Leeds.

With the release of their debut EP ‘Sparks‘ in 2016, Tin Pigeons quickly received national recognition when their single was named as BBC Radio One’s Introducing track of the week – gaining huge support from the likes of Huw Stephens,Greg James and Steve Lamacq. Major exposure has never stopped for the band, with their single ‘Home‘ having plays on BBC6 and their most recent single ‘Always the Same‘ being praised by top blogs.

DRUSILA

DRUSILA

Blending influences of Electronica, indie rock, and 80s synth-wave, Drusila is a duo that demonstrates an ability to create music to dance to as well as something reminiscent of the ‘Drive’ Soundtrack. (Oh hello! I’ve got that album! Looking forward to seeing DRUSILA then).

Having only formed at the beginning of 2018, they have established themselves as one of the most impressive live acts to come out of Portsmouth. Their live performances are theatrically mesmerising and they plan to take their show to new territory in the near future. Their new single ‘Want You’ gives a good taste of what is to come for this exciting new duo.

Tommy

Tommy

Tommy specialises in moody melancholy from the south coast. See what we mean here by watching his peaceful live version of ‘Front’ HERE.
