The 1976 Punk Rock legends, The Vibrators, are set to return to Brighton with 43 years on the case! They will be appearing on Friday 12th April at the Prince Albert, which is located near to Brighton’s main railway station.
Their first gig was supporting The Stranglers at Hornsey Art College in North London and then they went on to also support The Sex Pistols at the famous 100 Club. It’s a well known fact for those that are in the know that the band only ever play great gigs!
The band were in town last year and we at the Brighton & Hove New music team reported on their sold out gig – read the review HERE.
It’s very likely that this years show will also be a sold out event as there are three bands on the bill. The Vibrators will be joined by Penny Blood and Mad, Inc.
Brighton’s very own Penny Blood are all set to return to the Prince Albert with their unique blend of pop punk and this gig marks the release of their first EP. The band were formed by ex-members of Pig City Angels and Peter & The Test Tube Babies, namely Jim Phelan, ‘H’ and Dave O’Brien.
Also on the bill will be Mad. Inc. This is a side project of Stone Heroes and the latest incarnation of Mad Mush without singer Marcus but with his blessing. The Mad. Inc line-up is Dave Leak (currently also in Stone Heroes) on guitar and vocals, Fleagle (currently also in Stone Heroes) on bass guitar, Des Connolly (currently also in Stone Heroes and Shocks of Mighty) on drums, Gail Thibert (currently also in Sarah Pinks Gravediggers/Flowers in the Dustbin) on keyboards and backing vocals. They are very much influenced by The Clash circa 1977, so it will be well worth getting to the venue nice and early to witness these guys.
Tickets for the concert can be purchased HERE.
