Thousands of homes and businesses in the Mouslecoomb area of Brighton have been left without water after a contractor burst a main pipe.
An estimated 3,400 homes were affected by the burst water main in Lewes Road today (Thursday 1 August).
Southern Water were reported to have re-routed a pipe to restore supplies to about three quarters – or about 2,400 – of those homes
Southern Water said on Twitter: “We’re aware of a burst to one of our water mains which has been damaged by a third party in Lewes Road in Brighton.
“We’re working as quickly and as safely as possible to resolve the issue and apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
