Crystal Palace 1 Brighton & Hove Albion 1
A late Wilfried Zaha goal rescued a point for Palace after Albion had most of the possession but not all three points on a wet night in Croydon.
The first half was marked by several near misses. Vicente Guaita saved from Aaron Mooy, Yves Bissouma and Lewis Dunk.
Then on 54 minutes Neal Maupay slammed a Leandro Trossard cross high into the net to give Albion a well-deserved lead.
Albion continued to dominate possession.
A delightful chip from Davy Propper saw Guaita fumble and Maupay was just foiled from getting a second as the keeper grabbed the ball at the second attempt.
The introduction of substitute Max Meyer seemed to change the course of the game. Palace began to pressurise Albion for the final 15 minutes.
A clever diagonal ball from James Tomkins fell nicely for Zaha, who found the top left corner to pull Palace level.
Both teams had half chances to grab a winner but shared the points. The Seagulls stay 13th in the Premier League table.
Albion take on Sheffield United next in the Premier League at the Amex this Saturday (21 December) at 3pm.
