New Brighton hotel’s name revealed

The name of a new Brighton hotel built on the site of a former conference centre has been revealed.

The 221-bed Maldron Hotel has been built where the Metropole’s conference centre once stood in Cannon Place.

Maldron is a mid-market Irish chain owned by Topland, which also owns the Metropole chain.

The Hilton Brighton Metropole has been refurbished and renamed Doubletree by Hilton Brighton Metropole, with its signage no longer including the Metropole name.

Maldron’s website says the hotel is expected to open between April and June 2024.

Topland has applied for Maldron signage over the Cannon Place entrance to the hotel, on the north side of the roof, on the south tower and for a projecting sign on the eastern side of the building.

The plans were approved by Brighton and Hove City Council this week.

Just revealed – except I’m pretty sure this was reported back in October 2022?

Also disappointed to see that they seemingly have got the opening date wrong – website says it will open in July…

Oh wow. The name of the hotel is the same as the company building it and the same as every other hotel in their chain!

    Hardly a secret.

It was always going to be called “Maldron Hotel” because that’s how Maldron hotels are named!

Many of the hotels are filled with migrants
I expect this one will be too.
The situation is getting worse and worse.
Nearly every single hotel in Crawley is home to migrants.
Never mind the cost to the taxpayer but what happens when they run out of hotels.
And what about all the lost income from tourists unable to find accommodation.
The government have not come up with a viable solution – except the Rwanda one

Sad ,we need migrants. We should let them work and bring us much needed skills and enthusiasm.

Maldron is indeed an Irish chain but it belongs to the publicly quoted Dalata Hotels
