A moped driver who failed to turn up to court to be sentenced for driving and drug charges is being sought by police.
Rafael Junior Andrade Ferreira, 31, was pulled over when driving a Yamaha scooter which had previously been linked to drugs supply in Clifton Street, Brighton, last month.
After a search, Ferreira was charged with driving while disqualified, driving without insurance and having class B drugs – ketamine and cannabis.
Ferreira, of Norfolk Terrace, Brighton, pleaded guilty to all four charges on Tuesday 23 September at Brighton Magistrates’ Court, and the hearing was adjourned until Tuesday 30 September so that a pre-sentence report could be prepared.
But he failed to appear and a warrant for his arrest has now been issued.
In March, another man was fined for driving the same scooter in Brighton with no insurance.
Omar Younes, 29, of Bedford Square, Brighton, admitted driving without insurance or a licence on New Year’s Day. He was fined £300 at Brighton Magistrates’ Court.
