Two more people have been charged with drink driving in Brighton during the month-long Christmas crackdown by Sussex Police.

Alicia Hinton, 45, was arrested at 9.25pm on Monday (15 December). She was held after police were called to a report that a car had crashed into a parked vehicle and a lamppost at Brighton Marina and then driven off.

Hinton, of The Strand, Brighton Marina Village, was charged with drink driving and failing to stop after an accident. She was released on bail to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 10 February.

Dee Pak Dee Pak was arrested at 2am on Tuesday (16 December) after officers stopped his vehicle on suspicion that it was being driven without insurance.

Dee Pak, of Marine Parade, Brighton, was charged with drink driving, driving without a licence and driving without insurance. He was also released on bail to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 10 February.

Sussex Police said after arrests: “A total of 49 motorists have so far been charged with offences after they were arrested this month in Sussex’s drink and drug driving crackdown.

“For the first time, the December campaign is being run jointly by Sussex Police and Surrey Police alongside Sussex Safer Roads Partnership, Drive Smart in Surrey and the independent charity Crimestoppers.

“As part of Operation Dragonfly – Sussex Police’s year-round strategy to remove drink and drug drivers from the streets – roads policing unit officers are on dedicated patrols looking for offenders.

“Teams will also respond to tip-offs from members of the public who see someone they know has been drinking getting into a car to drive.

“The names of those charged are being proactively published.

“People in Sussex can text officers on 65999 with the details of people they suspect of drink or drug driving or visit www.operationcrackdown.co.uk.

“You can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

“To keep up to date with officers looking for drink drivers, follow #opdragonfly on Twitter.

“If you know someone is driving while over the limit or after taking drugs call 999.”
