The Government has warned people to reduce outdoors exercise tomorrow as very high levels of air pollution are forecast.
The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs says a combination of pollutants trapped near the ground, a light southeasterly flow bringing additional pollutants from the continent and, in addition, a small amount of Saharan dust in the air will raise pollution in the south east of the country.
Kent is set to be the worst affected, but air pollution levels in Brighton are also forecast to be much higher than normal.
However, clear Atlantic air is set to bring air pollution back to moderate levels over the weekend.
It says adults and children with lung problems, adults with heart problems, and older people, should avoid strenuous physical activity.
People with asthma may find they need to use their reliever inhaler more often.
And the general population is also warned to reduce strenuous activity outside, particularly if they develop a sore throat or a cough.
Meanwhile, Brighton and Hove seafront has today found itself shrouded in mist, as rising temperatures combined with cold seas combine to create a sea fret.

So Brighton pollution (and contribution to global warming) surge to new menacing levels in April 2015, as car fumes and ozone interact with a crazy Green policy that makes Brighton/Hove drivers frantically seek parking spaces (let alone affordable ones). Such parking cars explain at least 30% of Brighton/Hove’s vehicle pollution (particulates).

People of Brighton, vote Green for forty-storey Marina towers, endless untended roadworks, and the most polluted city in Europe!
