Trio sought over five random attacks in Brighton and Hove last night

These three men are believed to be behind five random attacks which left victims with broken noses and cuts to the head in the early hours of last night.

Thugs roamed from Western Road to Hove, then back into Brighton and down to the seafront, first randomly punching a man at 1am near Montpelier Road and finally breaking another man’s nose outside Coalition at 4.15am.

Detective Sergeant David Rose said: “We believe these assaults have all been carried out by the same group of men, who have randomly attacked different and unconnected people across the city. Their behaviour is totally unacceptable and we are very keen to trace them.

“The three men are described as white, two in shorts and T-shirts and one in a shirt and tie. One was carrying a JD sports bag.”

The first call came in at 1.07am on Western Road at the junction with Montpelier Road to say a man has been approached and punched.

The next call was at 3.20am to Church Road, near to Albany Villas where a 28-year-old man was found bleeding from the head. He reported being assaulted near to Churchill Square and his iphone and cash card was stolen. He was taken to hospital to be treated for cuts to his head where he remains.

At 3.51am a call was received after two men were punched on Kings Road at the junction with Western Street. They both needed treatment for cuts to the head.

At 4.07am two men were assaulted after one went to help another man who was being assaulted on Western Road near to Castle Street. Neither needed hospital treatment.

At 4.15am police received a fifth call from the Kings Road Arches near to Coalition nightclub where a man had been punched in the face and had been taken to hospital. He is believed to have a broken nose.

If anyone witnessed anything or thinks they might be able to help please contact police online quoting serial 150 of 26/06.
