Many people said that the Prime Minister Boris Johnson would not be able to renegotiate a new deal on Brexit in 100 days and in fact said it was a mountain that not even Boris could climb.
We saw yesterday (Thursday 17 October) that he has achieved what many said was unachievable and on top of this he has the backing of the European Union as well.
The European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker said: “Where there is a will, there is a way. We have one!
“It’s a fair balanced agreement for the EU and the UK and it is a testament to our commitment to find solutions. I recommend that the European Council endorses this deal.”
Now, I know some people will not be happy about Boris achieving a deal and are looking for either a “people’s vote” or a second referendum.
What I find staggering is that in the UK we have always accepted the results of either a general election or a referendum as we did back in 1975 when Remain won.
So, for the sake of democracy, I would urge us all now to get behind this deal and take the thought of a “no deal” Brexit off the table and allow our businesses and ourselves to get on with our lives with some certainty and confidence.
I do hope that Members of Parliament will put their party politics to one side and vote in support of this deal and deliver on the will of the people which was to leave the European Union and to take back control and lead the way as a United Kingdom to a better, brighter future in the world.

Fat chance! I voted remain, partly because I have relatives who are from other EU countries, but I just want this done. MPs must respect the referendum result or they will forfeit any respect we have for them. If we’re forced to vote again, I’ll vote leave as a vote for democracy. This is making me angry now.
What I would like to know is how many Polish have returned home now that their Country has had €100b net from the E.U.coffers to rebuild their infrastructure.
International Companies like Kraft which owns Mondalez which Cadbury is a part of and Nestles have built large factories in Poland at the expense of 1000s of British workers.
Actually, a deal has categorically NOT been struck, all that has happened is that it has passed a second reading so that Mp’s can add amendments!
It is NOW open to amendments such as a customs union / single market alignment, and a second referendum to be voted on and potentially added, but NONE of this can take place until a program timetable is AGREED by a majoirty in Parliament.
There is NOTHING agreed, until it passes third reading, which is why Johnson suspended it, it is now “in limbo” which is the technical term.
If a customs union and single market amendment is added, it will also likely have to be agreed by the EU before it can go to third reading for a final vote!
Also the Lords are free to add amendments too!
Much more likely Johnson carries on calling people chlorinated chickens and carries on being a rude child rather than agreeing a sensible programme timetable as Corbyn requested yesterday.
The 31st October date is all down to Johnson wanting to fight off the Brexit Party in the upcoming election whenever that happens, nothing more, nothing less!
