Brighton and Hove’s Indian restaurants are calling on curry lovers to nominate the city in this year’s Curry Capital of Britain awards.
Last year, the city ended up in second place, behind Bradford – even though it was just the second time it took part.
This year, it’s hoping it will be third time lucky, and it’s now up to curry fans to nominate the city to ensure it’s shortlisted.
If successful, four restaurants will then be chosen to represent us in the final battle.
Indian Summer, one of the four restaurants competing last year, said: “Brighton and Hove needs your votes. Last year our city was runner-up. Let us beat Bradford this year to take the title for 2015.”
The contest was launched last month at Indian Summer. Peter Grove, event organiser said: “What we are looking for can be summed up in one brief phrase – ‘community cohesion through curry’.
“As Plutarch, the first century Greek historian, once said, “A guest comes to share not only meat, wine, and dessert, but conversation, fun, and the amiability that leads to friendship.”
