A busy road was closed for more than an hour this morning after a lorry crashed into scaffolding around a pub.
The accident happened shortly after 7.30am this morning when the HGV collided with scaffolding around the Victoria, on the corner of Victoria Road and Carlton Terrace, Portslade.
Buses were diverted via Olive Road while police worked to reopen the roads around Portslade station.
Tailbacks were reported in the surrounding area during the morning rush-hour but all routes were declared clear at 9.05am.
A police spokesman said: “A lorry collided with scaffolding in Carlton Terrace, Portslade, at 7.37am on Thursday (15 November).
“Traffic built up in the area as the lorry was unable to move without affecting the scaffolding.
“Police closed the road while firefighters and a scaffolding company made the area safe.”
