Bloc Party announce Brighton Centre concert
Bloc Party

Bloc Party today announce they will play their seminal debut album ‘Silent Alarm’ live and in full at four huge shows across the UK this summer, including three outdoor shows in Bristol, Manchester and Glasgow, alongside a date at the Brighton Centre on Saturday 29th June. It will be the first time they have performed in the UK since a one-off show at London’s Alexandra Palace – which sold out in minutes – in October last year.

That show, alongside a handful of others on their acclaimed European tour, was recorded for a special live edition of ‘Silent Alarm’, which will be released on 12th April on 12-inch, CD, digital download and special edition bundles.

‘Silent Alarm’ was released in 2005 to widespread critical and commercial success, achieving multi-platinum sales and earning Bloc Party a Mercury Prize nomination. The album has since been heralded as one of the most influential and important of the decade by outlets as diverse as Pitchfork, Q, Newsweek, Spin, Complex and Clash, and was named in numerous lists collating the best albums of the decade, whilst NME named it as one of the best of all time.

The new Bloc Party ‘Silent Alarm Live’ album (2019) and the original ‘Silent Alarm’ album from 2005.

Praise for ‘Silent Alarm’:

“charismatic sophistication and outstanding songwriting” – Pitchfork (2005)

“‘Silent Alarm’ is the unpigeonholeable soundtrack to 21st-century life as a cast-off” – NME (2005)

“Pointed pop tunes that yelp and cry, and tug at your heart” – Rolling Stone (2005)

“a seismic charge that shook the very foundations of ‘indie’” – Clash (2015)

“a long-overdue reminder of how urgent and exciting rock could be” – Complex (2018)

See Bloc Party live in 2019:
Friday 28th June – Bristol Sounds @ Canon’s Marsh Amphitheatre, Bristol
Saturday 29th June – Brighton Centre, Brighton
Friday 5th July – Sound of the City @ Castlefield Bowl, Manchester
Friday 9th August – Summer Nights @ Kelvingrove Park Bandstand, Glasgow

Tickets for the Brighton Centre concert go on general sale from 9:30am on Friday 25th January priced from £30. They can be purchased from the Brighton Centre Box Office: 0844 8471515 / brightoncentre.co.uk/bloc-party or they can be purchased HERE.
