We thought as you busy parents have so little free time on your hands, that we’d offer up some suggestions for great family themed shows and events to visit this Brighton Festival and Fringe.

Over the next month, we’ll be sharing children focused dates to check out, so you can enjoy the festival whilst still being a responsible adult!

We’ll kick off with our first four recommendations for you:

High Top Circus Showcase

The annual ‘High Top Circus Student Showcase’ is back! This year, inspired by the world of Disney favourite Mary Poppins, these fledgling young performers will take you on an adventure complete with chimney sweeps, carousel horses, flying kites and high tea on the ceiling.

Featuring daring aerial acrobatics, teetering tightwire and dazzling hula hoops, it will be a family-friendly outing that’s practically perfect in every way.

High Top Circus is a Brighton based circus company that teaches youth and adult circus lessons and workshops throughout Sussex.

Performances

30 May 2019

16:00 – 17:00

Amazing Bubble Man

Amazing Bubble Man is back, hooray! And he truly is amazing. Bubbleologist  Louis Pearl has been impressing families with his quirky sequences for three decades, with the art, magic, science of bubbles.

An Edinburgh Fringe favourite but hailing from America, he sells out at our Fringe here every year. Louis explores the dynamics of bubbles, combining comedy, artistry, audience participation and enough spellbinding bubble tricks to keep all ages mesmerised.

From square bubbles, fog-filled bubbles, giant bubbles, volcanoes, tornados and trampolines to people in bubbles, the Amazing Bubble Man conjures giggles and fun family froth in one happy place.

Step into the shoes of an Adult Catcher in this captivating interactive adventure show full of comedy, clowning, super special effects and a stupendous plot.

From the creators of the environmentally focused kids show ‘LET’S BUILD A PLANET!’ (Best Family Show Award 2018 nominee) comes this innovative, exuberant and thought-provoking new production for 2019.

Their tongue twistingly named show is an opportunity to join the invincible superhero Captain Cauliflower on an unforgettable adventure, filled with extreme silliness and unquestionable danger.

We then follow his adventures into outer space and deep under the ocean, saving those in peril, but can he beat his arch nemesis, the evil and odorous Onion Man? Oh yes he can… oh no he can’t!
