Brighton Marina is to host a winter wonderland inspired by family favourite stories and characters.

The organisers have promised a “free fully immersive experience for the whole family”.

They said: “Touch the snow, meet the characters, taste the treats and watch the performers.”

And they added that The Village at Brighton Marina will be transformed into a world of fantasy from Friday 20 December and Christmas Eve from noon to 6pm.

They said: “Visitors will be able to walk through a tree-lined route, through the ‘Wardrobe’ and into a ‘Frozen’ world where they can experience exciting elements of two very familiar worlds.

“Children can interact with princesses, snowmen, lions, fauns and ice queens, have their photo taken and dress up as their favourite character.

“There will be snow machines, food and drink stalls selling hot chocolate, mulled win, roasted chestnuts and lots of other Christmas-inspired themes.”

There will also be rides for the children for a small fee.

The Marina said: “Throughout the day there will be onstage performances with the characters and music from bands and choirs plus a free daily raffle with great prizes.”

Marketing manager Sophie Chandler said: “We love hosting fantastic free events and this year we really have gone all out to bring an experience beyond our visitor’s imagination.”

This will be popular. The extreme skating event was very impressive. The organisers deserve praise for their work here.
