Vegans hold funeral for turkeys in Brighton supermarket

The group of vegan activists who have demonstrated at chain restaurants in Brighton this week held a funeral for turkeys in Sainsbury’s.

The demonstration followed a farm investigation by the national group of Direct Action Everywhere in which activists broke into a slaughterhouse and were “extremely shocked” to discover slaughtered turkeys hanging by their feet.

Wednesday’s protest saw Brighton activists enter the supermarket in New England Street and hold up signs for 15 minutes by the chilled meat counter.

A spokesperson said: “We use the method of disruption to draw immediate attention to the beings who were killed for their bodies to be on a shelf.”

“We are targeting the system of speciesism and aiming for systematic change rather than targeting individuals.”

A spokesman for Sainsbury’s said: “A small group visited our Brighton superstore yesterday for a brief time and moved on peacefully.”

I hope the gullible animal rights activists (they aren’t true vegans) weren’t bullying, intimidating, or spitting on people like they normally do.

Hmm. Singling out the turkeys when actually more than 20 million chickens are killed every week. Not to mention the millions of sprouts, carrots and parsnips that are expected to die for the poor vegans. The bloody world’s gone mad.

Were they lightly cremated with regular basting?

LOL. It would have made me throw a few of the turkies into my cart right in front of them.
