How To Survive and Thrive in an Impossible World – with a piano!

Two men, a piano, two guitars, a small tent and a philosophy for life – everything you need for an entertaining show in Brighton Fringe.

Steve Bonham and Chris ‘The Bishop’ Lydon have got their lives sorted. Old friends who have collaborated over many years, they have taken a long look at life, how it’s best lived and how to get through. This show is them sharing this road map, taking us on their journey, helping us prepare one for ourselves. Throughout the show, original songs help the duo communicate this message, with excellent piano skills on stage. The piece included memories from their lives, tall stories (which were probably true), and observations on how we deal with the ever changing environment around us. But the message is clear: follow their 5 steps, get involved in life and you too can be happy. It’s what they want for all of us.

These performers are really engaging. There is a warmth in the room from their efforts to make us join in, sing along and think about our lives. There’s a fair bit of audience participation, which everyone enters into, and all of us are smiling throughout. They’ve got a book to buy, and even a tea towel to emphasise the message, but we left with a clear idea of what they wanted us to hear.

A great little show which will leave you thinking about how they’ve got it so right for themselves and how we can take some of their enthusiasm for life away with us.
