A former editor charged with sending an obscene tweet to a Jewish campaigner will now stand trial in November.
Greg Hadfield appeared at Brighton Magistrates Court today for a pre trial review ahead of his trial, which was scheduled for the morning of 24 June.
He denied the single charge of sending by public communication network an offensive, indecent, obscene or menacing message on X (formerly Twitter) to Fiona Sharpe.
It will now be held over two days from 17 and 18 November at the same court.
Hadfield, 68, of Surrenden Road, Brighton, was represented by John Cooper KC.

Why pushed back? Any news on Brightons fave antisemite Tiny Tony and his brush with the law?
Non-obscene re-tweet actually, which did not get the first poster into trouble in any way. The whole thing is nonsense on stilts. When is the real news of Caplin’s next appearance in court for allegedly trying to hook up with minors?
Editor of what?

Not sure this man is a gentleman but nor am I sure that this trivial nonsense should be adding to the backlog in the courts. Perhaps the evidence at his trial will shine a light on what seems like over-reach by the police and prosecutors.
