A woodland footpath has reopened after being closed for a month for resurfacing.
The path from Coldean to Stanmer Park, which begins opposite the Ruby pub, goes over the footbridge and into Stanmer, now has wider paths.
The project was funded with a grant from the South Downs National Park Authority.
The new footpath has been constructed by installing a grid system with an overlay of stone and grit, creating a safer, less slippery surface, particularly during wet weather, on the steeper sections of the route.
Councillor Alan Robins, Cabinet Member for Sport, Recreation and Libraries, said: “We know how well used this path by local residents and park users, so it’s great that’s it’s now safer and more accessible for everyone to enjoy.”

I may sound like Mr Grumpy but I wonder how long it’ll be before cyclist will be tearing up and down here terrorising walkers with our furry friends…..just saying…..but it does look nice 🙂
Every weekend I plan my cycling trip to terrorise walkers. I hate cycling, but I love to ‘tear it up and down’ paths just to cause walkers distress.
Give it a rest, you lemon.
