An image of a man has been released by police investigating the repeated smashing of a Brighton shop’s windows.
Police today released the CCTV picture – several weeks after the last linked incident at the Co Op in St George’s Road in Kemp Town.
It’s not known whether detectives are also linking it to another bout of smashed windows in the last week of April.

A police spokeswoman said: “We are seeking to identify this man following multiple reports of criminal damage at the Co-Op in St George’s Road, Kemptown, Brighton.
“It is understood that the incidents took place on 17 February at around 2am, 15 March at around 3.15am, 30 March at around 3.25am, and 9 April at around 3.55am and it was reported that windows and glass door panels were smashed.
“The incidents are believed to be linked.
“Officers are investigating the series of incidents and would like to speak with this man in connection with enquiries.
“Anyone who recognises him, who witnessed the incidents or who has relevant information such as CCTV or doorbell or mobile footage is encouraged to report it to us online or by calling 101 quoting serial 116 of 09/04.”

Why is the image quality so dreadful? Was it filmed on a potato? The cost of a new camera must be less than 3 new shop windows and glass door. I bet the dim-witted perpetrator is quaking in his boots with that image being circulated.
‘Police are looking for a vague smudge, anyone who recognises the blurry splodge call 101’
It’s zoomed in.
It may be zoomed in but even quite simple image manipulation software could have sharpened it up a bit. Even so it’s better than some of the blurry CCTV images that are shown to try and identify someone.
It may have been much blurrier before and this could already be the sharpened up version, to the best extent possible short of creating a fictional character.
