The Seagulls suffered another significant loss, this time at the hands of Derby, victors when the two sides met in the play-offs last season.
The Albion were undone inside ten first-half minutes with two goals from perennial tormentor Chris Martin on 10 and 20 minutes and another from Johnny Russell in-between Martin’s brace.
Martin has now scored six goals against Albion since August 2013.
Despite the recent acquisition of striker Darren Bent, Albion failed to register a shot on goal.
Albion remain in the relegation zone and take on Millwall at the Amex next Friday night (12 December).
