City College Brighton and Hove is holding an open evening later today (Wednesday 11 March) across both of its main sites – midway through National Apprenticeship Week.

The event runs from 4.30pm to 6.30pm today at the Pelham Street campus and at City College East in Wilson Avenue, Brighton.

The college said that a regular shuttle bus would run between the sites.

Tutors from all departments and the college’s Apprenticeship Team will be available at both sites to discuss options for young people across a range of subjects and careers. Students will also be on hand to share their perspective.

The event offers visitors a chance to check out the college’s art studios, motor vehicle workshops, hair and beauty salons and professional kitchens.

For more information, contact Course Information on 01273 667759, email courseadvice@ccb.ac.uk or visit www.ccb.ac.uk.

National Apprenticeship Week started on Monday (9 March) and runs until Friday (13 March).

The aim is to celebrate apprenticeships and the positive impact that they have on individuals, businesses and the wider economy.

City College, as one of the largest providers of apprenticeships in the region, said that it was proud to support National Apprenticeship Week.

It said that it recognised the hard work of apprentices and the local businesses that employ them.

From 11am to 2pm today there is also a Pop-up Apprenticeship Stall at the City College East campus. It will offer an apprenticeship matching service and the chance to ask questions and find out about vacancies.

From 3pm to 5pm there is an apprenticeship matching event at Bedrock, in West Street, Brighton. It will provide a chance to network with local employers and chat with City College’s Apprenticeship Team who will be available to provide advice and support.

And on Friday (13 March) from 12.30pm to 2pm City College is hosting an Apprenticeship Fair in the Main Hall, in Pelham Street.

It will offer a chance to meet with employers such as the housing maintenance contractor Mears and network directly with them. Apprentices will also be there to talk to.
